March Madness: Like An Underdog? Bet $4 To Win $256 At DraftKings This Week

-

After a long hiatus, we will finally get March Madness back this weekend after it was canceled last year due to the emergence of the COVID-19 virus in the United States. It was a very sad moment a year ago when we saw all sports leagues shut-down, and we were robbed of what was sure to be an amazing tournament season last year. It seems as though we have advanced enough through this crisis to get a tournament this year, and boy are we in for a good one.

For the first time since 2005, the Illinois Fighting Illini are a number-one seed in the NCAA Tournament. They dominated through their season, finishing only behind Michigan in the Big Ten Conference (which is up for debate, quite frankly). They romped through the Big Ten Tournament, eventually beating the Ohio State Buckeyes in the conference final 91-88 to claim their first Big Ten title since that ’05 season.

However, we all know that the tournament is famous for first-round upsets. Every year, we usually get at least a few upsets early in the tourney. DraftKings Sportsbook wants you to cash in by choosing an underdog this weekend to win outright. The best part about it is that it is low-risk for a high reward, which is what we all love to see.

Bet $4 To Win $256

This is really an incredible deal for new users, where you can make quite a bit of cash really quickly. There are plenty of underdogs that have a real chance to win this weekend, and I’ll list off my favorites below. First off, let’s go over the ground rules here that DK has laid out for us when betting this promotion. Don’t worry, I have all the details here you can read over in a screenshot, so you’re not being “taken for a ride” with something that is too good to be true.

As you can see, all you have to do is sign-up by clicking on one of the DraftKings banners included in this article, and choose your odds boost. Pick an underdog this weekend, even if they are only underdogs by 1 point it counts, and watch the game. If they win, you win. A lot of cash for almost nothing. So why not sign-up today and get in on the action?

Best Underdog Bet

#13 Ohio +7.5 vs. #4 Virginia

I like Ohio for many reasons against Wichita State. Ohio point guard Jason Preston has racked up the 10th-highest assist rate in college basketball, and he’ll be key to a sped-up tempo that will make Virginia have to be uber-efficient, as they rank near the bottom of the NCAA in pace. Preston will dominate the Cavaliers’ Kihei Clark in the halfcourt.

Preston leads an Ohio offense that boasts the 56th-highest 3-point percentage (36.6%) in the country, and it’s perimeter offense will be critical against Virginia’s pack-line defense that will be looking to guard the paint.

Virginia is also dealing with COVID issues right now after someone in their program tested positive for the virus. It doesn’t really matter who exactly suits up for head coach Tony Bennett’s team this weekend, as whoever does will have had only one day of practice in Indianapolis. That doesn’t exactly make me very confident that they will be ready for this sharpshooting Ohio team. They are a live dog for sure against the Cavaliers in the round of 64.
