The Chicago Cubs clinched a playoff berth to the 2025 MLB postseason with an 8-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday afternoon and the team didn’t waste the opportunity to celebrate. Sure, the Cubs went to the playoffs in 2018 and 2020, but they didn’t get to actually have a full-on celebration in either occasion.
Here are the five guys on the Cubs who had the best time celebrating their playoff berth in Pittsburgh.
5. Justin Turner
The veteran actually played a key role during Chicago’s 8-4 win, going 2-for-2 off the bench with two runs driven in against the Pirates and he certainly soaked it all in afterwards.
Kevin Alcántara’s reaction makes that image even better.
4. Pete Crow-Armstrong
You’re always going to have the “I love you,” guy and that was Pete Crow-Armstrong.
Plus, shirtless on the field celebrating.
3. Daniel Palencia
Videos say it all.
2. Carson Kelly
The veteran catcher has been dropping some incredible facial expressions throughout the season and Carson Kelly blessed us with another one thanks to the champagne shower that he received.
1. John Mallee
Ian Happ was on the 2017 Cubs team that won the division and John Mallee was the hitting coach. Malle is now the assistant hitting coach and he takes the top spot here as being the only coach running around shirtless in the clubhouse on Wednesday.
Honorable mention, Dansby Swanson.
