There it is! The Chicago Cubs have traded for veteran starter Kevin Gausman, sending two prospects to the Toronto Blue Jays for the rental pitcher.
After missing out on Tarik Skubal, and passing on Freddy Peralta, the Cubs got an established pitcher in Gausman, who has a career 3.85 ERA in 384 games. So far in 2026, the right-handed pitcher has posted a 4.38 ERA in 127.1 innings.
Last year, Gausman posted a 2.93 ERA in six playoff games (five starts), including two quality starts against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.
We’ll have more on the trade on Sports Mockery and during Sunday night’s live Pinwheels And Ivy Podcast.
