White Sox Pitcher Aaron Bummer Leaves Game With Apparent Injury

-

Aaron Bummer surprised everyone in 2019, establishing himself as not just one of the most effective lefties in the league but as one of the best relievers in all of baseball. The White Sox rewarded him with a contract extension in the offseason and he’s pretty much turned into the most important reliever on the south side.

For that reason fans are holding their collective breath after seeing Bummer exit with an apparent injury during Friday night’s game against Cleveland.

Bummer pitched a scoreless sixth inning, but following a two-out error in the seventh he delivered a strike to José Ramírez and then asked for the team trainer. Bummer shook his left arm coming off the mound and was taken out of the game.

The 26-year-old had a 2.13 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in 67.2 innings last season for the White Sox and entering tonight the left-hander had a 1.59 ERA through his first six appearances in 2020.

We’ll keep you updated on Bummer’s status and hopefully it’s something minor because his absence would be a big blow to the White Sox.
