White Sox Cut Roster To 28 Players And Nicky Didn’t Survive This Time

-

The White Sox officially placed rookie second baseman Nick Madrigal on the injured list before their Thursday night game against the Brewers and they also made one more move as teams had to cut down their active rosters to 28.

This time, Nicky Delmonico didn’t survive the roster move, as he was sent to Schaumburg.

The White Sox are hoping Madrigal can return by the end of the month, but offseason shoulder surgery could be in the young player’s future.

Meanwhile, Delmonico just couldn’t carry his offense from summer camp into the regular season and quickly became public enemy number one for White Sox fans. Couple his struggles with manager Rick Renteria unbelievably hitting Delmonico second and at clean up during the first week of the season and fans were foaming at the mouth just by seeing his name.

In six games Delmonico went 3-for-20, with two strikeouts, two walks, three RBIs and no home runs.

Team rosters will remain at 28 for the rest of the season, including the playoffs.
