Well, it turns out the rumors were true.
There was speculation that Michael Kopech and Vanessa Morgan had possibly split up as fans started to notice things over social media during the past couple months. Those rumors started to gain more traction after the right-handed pitcher opted out of the 2020 season.
But maybe it was because Kopech and his wife were expecting a baby? Well, last week Morgan announced on Instagram that she was pregnant, but there was no mention of Kopech whatsoever.
On Monday, the Chicago Tribune reported that Kopech has filed for divorce.
So yeah, this definitely qualifies as personal reasons, which the White Sox said was why Kopech decided not to return and attempt to pitch this season.
According to the report Kopech filed for divorce last month. Kopech and Morgan got married on Jan. 4, 2020.
Doesn’t matter who, 2020 has been pretty bad for a lot of people.
