REPORT: White Sox Adding Another Top Prospect To Postseason Player Pool

-

The White Sox are headed to the postseason with a plethora of young players at their disposal and they’re reportedly adding one more prospect to the list of eligible players for the playoffs.

According to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, right-handed hitter Andrew Vaughn will be on the 40-man postseason player pool for the White Sox.

To be clear, this doesn’t mean Vaughn will make the team’s active roster once the playoffs begin next week, but because he’s on the 40-man eligible list, he will be able to travel and workout with the White Sox if they advance past the first round and head to the postseason bubble in southern California.

And well, if the White Sox decide Vaughn can help, then they can add him to their active roster. Only the players on this 40-man player pool, which teams are starting to announce, are eligible to be on the 28-man active roster in the playoffs.
