Mets Players Bitch About Marcus Stroman, the Biggest Cry Babies After Losing

Marcus Stroman has bounced back big time since his worst start of the season against the Minnesota Twins during the Chicago Cubs last road trip. The right-hander cruised through six innings on Friday, recording another quality start, allowing just one run against the Philadelphia Phillies and then on Wednesday night, Stroman had one of the best starts since signing with the Cubs last year.

Stroman was on his game against his former team, giving up just two runs on a home run off the bat of rookie catcher Francisco Álvarez in the third inning. After that, the Mets only recorded two more hits against Stroman, both infield singles. Stroman ended his outing by getting Álvarez to ground into an inning-ending double play in the eighth inning, as the right-handed batter was at the plate representing the go-ahead run with the Cubs leading 4-2.

Stroman’s final line was 8 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 3 K, 2 BB. That included getting three double plays and 15 ground ball outs.

Not only was Stroman’s pitching on point, his defense was once again stellar, turning one of those double plays in the sixth inning and then pouncing on another soft grounder and making a jump throw to get the out at first base.

After the Cubs beat the Mets 4-2, they bitched and not only did they bitch, whoever the players that were whining about Stroman showing too much emotion on the mound or whatever dumb shit, did it without putting their name to their words.

Here’s what a few Mets players were mad about after Stroman beat them. Via the New York Post.

Here’s the first anonymous comment made by a Mets player.

The Cubs right-hander pounded his chest and screamed into the visitor’s dugout at Wrigley Field after getting Francisco Alvarez to hit into a double play to complete the eighth inning.

The gesture didn’t go unnoticed by the Mets.
“What did we do to him?” one Met asked rhetorically after the team’s 4-2 loss to the Cubs.

LMAO! What the hell is that? This Mets player is upset because Marcus Stroman was excited to get out of a jam in a huge spot late in a close game??? They took Stroman, one of the most “heart on his sleeve,” player in all of sports, getting pumped up, as a personal affront? Last time I checked, no one played in their first ever game for the Mets last night, so I’m confused as to why anyone would be surprised that a player might express emotion during a game.

But this comment made by a different Mets player, really is the icing on the cake.

One Mets player who witnessed the scene was more critical of Stroman.
“Show some respect,” the player said. “Be a professional. It isn’t all about you.”

Oh yeah baby, of course we got the “show some respect” toward Stroman. Are we sure this was a Mets player or one of thousands of fans on Twitter who cannot wait to shit on Stroman any chance they get.

And again, none of these dudes bitching could even put their name to what they had to say about Stroman.

Stroman now has a 2.95 ERA and 1.09 WHIP through 11 starts this season.
