There’s no question that Yoan Moncada hasn’t lived up to expectations through the first year and half with the White Sox, and the 2019 season is huge for the third baseman. So far, he’s proving the haters wrong, way wrong. Yeah, yeah, it’s only five games but White Sox fans couldn’t have asked for a hotter start from Moncada.
During Wednesday’s game against Cleveland, Moncada walked twice against Corey Kluber, then he doubled and in his fourth time up to bat, Moncada blasted a ball to right field for his second home run of the year.
There's having a hot start, and then there's doing what @ymoncada19 is doing right now. pic.twitter.com/JaBCsbE8Eh

By the way, Moncada’s double was hit 417 feet to left-center field.
Moncada, misses a bomb to center field by mere feet. Estimated 417 feet on that double to center. He’s gone to the plate 21 times this season and reached base 11 times

With the two-run bomb, Moncada has started the 2019 season reaching base 12 times in 22 plate appearances. That’s three doubles, two home runs and three walks to go along with four singles in the first five games.
Moncada has already scored nine times, while driving in six runs. He looks way more aggressive at the plate and Moncada just keeps destroying baseballs.
