The White Sox officially announced their contract extension with Eloy Jimenez on Friday and he was in the lineup Saturday against the Dodgers. After struggling for most of spring training and then getting optioned to Triple-A, Jimenez came back and what better way to celebrate the new $43 million deal than by hitting a home run.

Although White Sox GM Rick Hahn hasn’t officially said Jimenez will be on the Opening Day roster, Eloy is going to be on the Opening Day roster. Brandon Guyer has already been released by the White Sox and Nicky Delmonico was optioned to Triple-A as well.
By the way, Jimenez is 3-for-3 with a walk to go along with the home run against the Dodgers on Saturday.
Eloy is coming!
