Kris Bryant definitely should have been placed on the injured list after banging up his left hand against Cleveland last week, but the Cubs didn’t so I guess I’ll stop my bitching.

Before Tuesday night’s game against the Cardinals at Wrigley Field, David Ross gave an update on Bryant, who will be out until at least Friday.

Bryant, who missed two games last week against the Brewers and has looked awful at the plate since returning, got a shot in his left hand and the earliest he can be back is against the White Sox this weekend.

In 2019, Bryant was on pace to put up a career high in OPS and probably approach 40 HRs, but a knee injury in late July slowed him down. He struggled through the month of August and finally on Sept. 8, Bryant received a cortisone shot in his knee.

After a couple days he came back and went on a rampage at the plate.

Fingers crossed that we get a repeat performance from Bryant following this latest injection.
