If you’re in the media, you definitely don’t want to be trending on Twitter and that’s exactly what happened with Mark Grace during Saturday’s Cubs game against the Brewers.

Probably should have stopped after starting his story with, “I’m going to go Archie Bunker on you.”

The ex-Cubs great later apologized on air, but on Sunday morning the Chicago Tribune’s Paul Sullivan tweeted out that Grace was basically suspended for his comments.

I’m not really sure why Marquee is trying so hard to force Grace into the broadcasts and yeah I know that was the plan since they hired him, but it’s not needed. The Cubs have one of the best TV broadcasts in baseball and it doesn’t need a third wheel telling stories about who the fuck cares.

Outside of Grace being a douchebag and trashing his ex-wife, that story was during a 3-3 game against a division rival in the sixth inning. It reminded me of the times when the Cubs have a celebrity on before or after they sing Take Me Out To The Ballgame and they’re talking nonsense while the Cubs are trying to rally or preserve a lead late in a game.

Cut the bullshit and give me baseball.

So, do us all a favor and just keep Grace away for the rest of the season.
