Damnit.

It looked like Kris Bryant’s left wrist was fine after he launched a 430-foot blast in the sixth inning against Cleveland in Wednesday’s 7-2 Cubs win, but a day later he’s been scratched from the lineup against the Brewers.

Earlier in Wednesday’s game, Bryant attempted to make a diving catch in left field and on the play he hurt his left hand. He did stay in the game and hit his second homer of the season, but the injury was enough to keep him out of Thursday’s series opener at Wrigley Field.

Bryant started in left field on Wednesday after Kyle Schwarber was scratched because of a sore right knee.

After a slow start to the season, Bryant was trending in the right direction to begin the month of August, slashing .286/.400/.667, in his last six games.

Hopefully this isn’t a nagging issue for Bryant.
