Cubs Make A Trade With The Padres

-

Ken Rosenthal reported earlier in the day that the Cubs and Padres were engaged in trade talks, as teams near the deadline to set their 40-man roster for the rule 5 draft. A trade has occurred, with the Cubs sending infielder Jason Vosler to the Padres for pitcher Rowan Wick.

The Cubs 40-man roster is now at 40, but there could still be a few more moves before the end of the day.

Wick, 26, has a 2.84 ERA in 142.2 minor league innings. He had a cup of coffee with the Padres in 2018, appearing in 10 games for San Diego.

Here’s a little more on Wick.

And on Vosler.
