The Chicago Cubs had a brutal weekend, losing another series to the St. Louis Cardinals at home, getting their ass kicked in back-to-back games, and to make it even worse, they lost two games in the standings to the Milwaukee Brewers. Yet, despite all that, no one had a worse weekend than the Cubs fan who was shown on camera shoving either a young girl or a woman in the bleachers, trying to get a home run ball.
Pete Crow-Armstrong hit a two-run home run in the third inning, which at the time cut the Cubs’ deficit to 3-2. It was the closest the Cubs would get to the Cardinals in Sunday’s series finale, as Edward Cabrera was chased out of the game in the very next inning. While Cubs fans are pissed off at Cabrera, who was bad in his return from the injured list and did not disclose a blister problem until after he came out of the game, everyone else ripped apart the fan in the bleachers, who appears to have shoved a female fan in the stands.
There’s no other context needed here. That was a tough look as the best-case scenario and absolutely disgusting behavior no matter how you look at it. All that to maybe get a home run ball? Yikes.
Bad weekend for the Cubs, and especially that dude who instantly became a villain online.
