Cardinals and Brewers Will Brawl After Willson Contreras Called a Player a “F*cking P*ssy” Right?

-

Things are getting pretty spicy between the Cardinals and Brewers this weekend and we’re expecting more fireworks in Sunday’s series finale. Willson Contreras called a Brewers player a fucking pussy in the media following Saturday’s game, when he got into it with pretty much the entire Brewers dugout.

Contreras was later hit by a pitch in the fifth inning by Jose Quintana. Those two were teammates with the Cubs from 2017-20. The feud began earlier in the game when Contreras made an awkward step back at first base after receiving a throw for an out. By doing that he ended up tripping Chad Durbin, who was sprinting on by and tumbled to the ground.

This is the first year that Contreras has been primarily starting at first base with the Cardinals.

Even after Contreras got hit by a pitch there was no actual altercation on the field, but he definitely escalated things after the Cardinals won 8-5.

Here’s what Contreras had to say about the incident at first base.

Via Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat.

“One of their players, he liked to talk from far away, but then when he got in my face, didn’t say shit,” Willson Contreras said postgame. “I was looking for more than that. He seems to be tougher. He’s a fucking pussy. I’m not gonna name no names. He knows who he is.”

Later, asked about Hoskins by name, Contreras answered, “He didn’t say nothing to me. I was expecting for him to say something, but he was looking away already. Look at my face. Just say it to my face, whatever you say from the dugout. And he was looking away…just get off the base. I was like man, push me. He didn’t so it was good.”

The Cardinals and Brewers wrap up their four-game series in Milwaukee Sunday afternoon. I mean, they gotta brawl, right?
