White Sox starter Lucas Giolito was dominating the Royals on Wednesday, when he tweaked his hamstring in the third inning and left the game early.
Giolito had five strikeouts and had not allowed a hit before Ricky Renteria and the White Sox training staff decided to pull him after the pitcher threw a few more warm up pitches.
Steve Stone brought up the injury possibly being to Giolito’s ankle, but the White Sox said he has tightness in his hamstring.
Hopefully Giolito doesn’t have to miss any time, but hamstring injuries can be tricky. We’ll keep you updated on Giolito’s status moving forward.
