White Sox Outfielder Nicky Delmonico Has Season-Ending Surgery

-

Nicky Delmonico had an impressive run when he first made his MLB debut with the White Sox in 2017. He had a .855 OPS in 43 games, but unfortunately things haven’t gone his way since. He suffered a concussion back in spring training, but did get called up earlier this year. However, the left-handed hitting outfielder only had a .551 OPS in 63 at-bats and was sent back down to Triple-A after a month with the White Sox.

It turns out that Delmonico was playing with an injured left shoulder and last Thursday he had season-ending surgery.

Delmonico slashed .206/.265/.286, in 21 games with the White Sox this season. He also played in 17 games at Triple-A this season. He has a career .709 OPS in 152 MLB games.

And for those hoping this means Luis Robert will be heading to Charlotte, not quite yet.
