Tim Anderson Is Back In The White Sox Lineup!

-

White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was having a good season until he sprained his ankle fielding a ground ball against the Red Sox on June 25. He’s been sidelined since, but after a few games at Triple-A, Anderson is back and he’s in tonight’s White Sox lineup against the Mets.

The White Sox made a few roster moves since Sunday’s loss to the Twins, demoting Dylan Covey to Triple-A. Before Tuesday’s series opener, the White Sox made Anderson’s return from the injured list official, while also sending outfielder Ryan Cordell to Charlotte.

Right-handed pitcher Carson Fulmer has also been called up to take Covey’s roster spot.

Anderson will bat seventh tonight.

This is also the second game in a row that rookie Eloy Jimenez is not playing left field. He returned from his elbow injury on Sunday and was the DH then too.

Meanwhile, the White Sox currently don’t have a fifth starter named, but if they do call someone up it might be Hector Santiago. That won’t happen until he’s needed, though, and if it happens expect Fulmer to be the odd-man out once again.
