WATCH: Ben Zobrist Hits A Home Run In First Game With Myrtle Beach

-

Cubs veteran Ben Zobrist started the second leg of his rehab assignment on Thursday night with the high Single-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans and he homered for the first time since beginning his minor league stint last Friday.

Zobrist will play two more games this weekend at Myrtle Beach before the Cubs decide the next step in his comeback. Zobrist has been on the restricted list since May, dealing with a personal issue.

Zobrist will start at second base on Friday for the Pelicans. He went 2-for-9, with a walk, run, RBI and two strikeouts in three games with the South Bend Cubs last weekend in his first game action since May.

The Cubs have to reinstate Zobrist back from the restricted list before Sept. 1, for him to be eligible for postseason play.
