As expected, Kris Bryant has pretty much the same injury as Anthony Rizzo, but after the disaster against the Cardinals, there shouldn’t be any reason for Bryant to try and return this season.

Bryant slipped on first base during Sunday’s loss when he tried to beat out a double play. He was helped off the field and although there is no fracture, Bryant had an MRI on Monday.

The Cubs begin a three-game series against the Pirates tonight and then head to St. Louis to end the regular season.

After losing six in a row the Cubs are now four games back of the Brewers and 4.5 games back of the Nationals for a Wild Card spot. Again, no reason Bryant, or anyone else who’s injured on the Cubs should try and return this week.
