Nico Hoerner was ejected for the second time in his MLB career on Sunday. Home plate umpire Derek Thomas tossed the Cubs second baseman in the fifth inning after Hoerner exchanged some words following a strike three call. Now, audio has been released and we finally know the disgusting words Hoerner said to the ump that led to his ejection.

Wait. No. Wait. Did, did Hoerner say, “you’re having a really bad day so far,” and then got ejected????
Holy shit is Derek Thomas a clown for that. You gotta love Hoerner’s postgame reaction, when he said exactly the same words he told Thomas and then just looked at reporters with a hilarious expression, smirking, like yeah, that’s the bullshit I dealt with.
This all goes back to why balls and strikes will be called by AI, I respect the umps but there is to much disparity between the way plate umpires see balls and strikes.
