This is exactly what Joe Maddon envisioned when he put Kyle Schwarber as the Cubs leadoff hitter. It didn’t work out in 2017, but the results have been awesome so far in 2019. Schwarber crushed his 14th home run of the season on Wednesday, capping off a five-run second inning against the Rockies.
