Javier Báez Concludes Pissing Contest By Crushing A 460-Foot Bomb

-

The Cubs and Rockies kept throwing at each other today in a classic unwritten rules war and after Anthony Rizzo got hit in the eighth inning, Javier Báez blasted a 460-foot bomb to left field.

That was his 17th of the season.

Earlier in the game Báez avoided getting hit on an inside pitch near his head. That came after Kris Bryant was hit twice on Tuesday and we all remember the head shot in Colorado in 2018. So, Cole Hamels then hit Nolan Arenado on the arm. Arenado was eventually taken out of the game with a forearm bruise.

Later on Hamels was hit on the leg and then Rizzo was next. Seems pretty stupid and so much for Hamels hitting Arenado being a deterrent for not getting more Cubs players nailed with pitches.

At least we got Báez absolutely wrecking another baseball out of it.
