The Red Sox fired Dave Dombrowski a little more than two weeks ago and the Boston media is getting bored because there hasn’t been much news about who will be taking over as the president of baseball operations.

And this isn’t a whole rant against the media because for the most part fans love speculation. Don’t lie. You do. Which stories get the most buzz? “Rumors” “Reports” you guys eat that shit up and so do we.

So, with absolutely no noise around Dombrowski’s replacement with the Red Sox, of course you have to bring up Theo Epstein.

Let’s not forget that a few weeks ago Epstein said any rumors about he or anyone else from the Cubs going to the Red Sox was false.

But hey, who doesn’t like love some good ole speculation. This was in the Boston Globe.

Again, right off the bat Alex Speier is telling everyone that it’s pure speculation. The only thing he points out is that if candidates feel they can’t deal with the immense pressure that comes working for the Red Sox and their high expectations, then they may want a person who’s familiar working for them, like Epstein.

Anyway, Theo wasn’t shy in responding to the speculation, once again shutting down any notion that he’s leaving the Cubs to go back to the Red Sox.

OK, cool.
