Yeah, yeah, yeah, Sonny Gray has reverse splits and is better against lefties than righties and this year Albert Almora Jr. is hitting better against righties than lefties, but there’s no excuse to put several better hitters lower in the lineup just to have Almora leading off.
Jason Heyward has kinda cooled off in August. OK, fine. Bat Nick Castellanos at leadoff. Bat Kris Bryant at leadoff.
But somehow that’s not even the worst thing about tonight’s lineup because for some reason Jonathan Lucroy is batting sixth.
