Here’s A Wacky Cubs Stat You Probably Didn’t Know

-

The Cubs entered Tuesday’s game against the Mariners averaging 5.5 runs per game. That’s good for one of the best offensive outputs in the National League. Yet, there is one run-scoring stat that the Cubs were last in.

Before Tuesday, the Cubs still hadn’t had a player hit a home run from the leadoff spot.

Then Daniel Descalso greeted Félix Hernández with a bomb!

It was the Cubs first leadoff dinger of 2019 and they were a tad bit late to the party.

Hopefully that breaks Descalso out of his mini slump. He was 3-for-27 in his last nine games.
