Back on Aug. 31, we saw Ian Happ and Javier Baez celebrate a home run with a waffle maker in the Cubs dugout against the Philadelphia Phillies. Apparently that waffle maker was lost or whatever happened to it the Cubs no longer had it after their series at Milwaukee in the beginning of September. Since then, the Cubs have been struggling offensively, BUT WAIT JUST A MINUTE!
Before Friday night’s game against the Cincinnati Reds, Happ posted the following picture on Instagram, showing three waffle makers that Cubs fans had sent him.

This is why @cubs fans are the best. 3 new waffles makers for the dugout from the fans! #cubsnation
Then, as the Cubs were getting shutout by Matt Harvey, they finally had something going in the seventh inning.
Happ stepped up to the plate and hammered a game-winning, three run homer to left-center field.

That was his 15th home run of the season and first since Sept. 2, against the Phillies.
So, the waffle makers come back and Happ hits the biggest home run of the season for the Cubs, who kept their 1.5 game lead in the division. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
