Since May 1, Daniel Descalso has a total of nine hits. He’s hitting .186 this season, only plays on position, plays that position poorly, but hey at the least the Cubs are getting the much-needed veteran presence.
Following Monday’s disaster of a 18-5 loss to the Pirates, Descalso somehow became even more annoying. This isn’t really a big thing because what really matters from a fan perspective is that a guy can actually provide something positive to the team, but this quote was annoying as hell.
Normally you save the “we” quotes when you’re playing well as an individual, but it’s not translating to team success. The Cubs have been a mediocre team since the middle of May. Everything has been inconsistent, but I don’t need the worst player on the Cubs saying “we have to do better.”
Look at how easy Descalso could have answered any question about the team underperforming.

Again, in the big picture, who gives a shit. It’s just annoying. Still no clue why Descalso continues to be on the roster. It was a mistake. Fix it.
