Cubs Send Addison Russell Back To Iowa

-

It had to happen. Addison Russell admitting to not knowing signs and basically not knowing any basic things while playing has earned him a ticket to Iowa.

The Cubs have optioned Russell back to Triple-A, while activating Willson Contreras from the injured list.

The other big news from today is that Jon Lester was scratched from his start in the series finale against the Giants because of illness. Tyler Chatwood will start in his place.

Robel Garcia gets yet another start at second base. Here’s today’s lineup, which also includes Contreras. He missed the minimum 10 days on the injured list because of a sprained foot.
