During the Cubs Convention back in January, Jason McLeod raved about pitching prospect Duncan Robinson. The tall, right-hander was picked in the ninth round of the 2016 MLB draft by the Cubs and prior to this season Robinson had a 2.78 ERA in 288 minor league innings.

In 2018, Robinson made 24 starts in Double-A and recorded a 3.31 ERA. He then made two starts with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs and only gave up one earned run in 11 innings.

The 6-foot-6 pitcher was primed for a big 2019 at Triple-A, but unfortunately after five starts he was placed on the injured list. On Wednesday, Robinson then revealed that he underwent Tommy John surgery, officially ending his 2019 season.

Certainly a tough break for Robinson, but hopefully the rehab process goes smoothly without any setbacks.
