Cubs Pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. Placed On Injured List

-

Well, this isn’t the news any Cubs fans wanted to hear. Right-handed reliever Carl Edwards Jr. has been placed on the injured list after falling down and scraping his hand.

Edwards has appeared in three games with the Iowa Cubs since he was demoted to Triple-A after a terrible opening week. Edwards has allowed one run in four innings, striking out three and giving up only one walk and two hits.

The Cubs are looking for Edwards to get some consistency down in the minors after he struggled with command to begin the regular season. He also had to go back to his old delivery, as MLB eventually ruled his new delivery illegal right before Opening Day.

Edwards has shown improvement in Triple-A through his first three appearances, throwing 38 strikes out of 60 pitches.

Hopefully this hand wound heals up quickly and Edwards can get back on the mound soon.
