Joe Maddon’s talked about it all weekend long, the Cubs have been terrible against left-handed pitching and they need to get better. Overall, the outfield production has been disappointing and no matter the position the Cubs are looking for another bat.

Guess who kills lefties, plays the outfield (defense not his strong suit) is available and probably won’t cost much? Tigers outfielder Nick Castellanos.

Guess what team is interested in Castellanos? The Cubs!

His numbers against LHP are tremendous.

Overall in 2019, Castellanos is slashing .280/.339/.467. He has an .887 OPS during the past 30 days.

In the news story by McCosky, the Tigers reporter also mentions that the Indians, Rays and Reds have been closely scouting Castellanos.

Castellanos, 27, will be a free agent after 2019.
