Cubs Bench Coach Mark Loretta Fined And Suspended

On Saturday, Kyle Schwarber was thrown out trying to advance to third base on a ball that got a few feet away from Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina. Schwarber was called out and the Cubs challenged the play.

It looked like Matt Carpenter didn’t tag Schwarber with his glove and if any contact was made it was with his arm up against Schwarber’s arm.

Anyway, here are the idiot Cardinals announcers saying Schwarber was obviously out, even saying that the laces are part of the glove and that counts as an out.

No, they literally don’t.

The Cubs lost the review.

There’s no video of Mark Loretta’s reaction, but apparently the Cubs bench coach got so pissed off that MLB fined and suspended him for one game. He’ll be serving that one-game suspension tonight in Pittsburgh.
