Today’s the home opener at Wrigley Field for the Cubs and after a 2-7 start on the road the team must be happy to be back in Chicago. As bad as the team has been on the field, the first embarrassment in the home opener goes to whoever decided the following sign would look great in the press box.

Madeline Kenney, who’s a sports reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times, posted this picture of a 1945 sign in the Wrigley Field press box that reads “no women admitted.”

Nothing says 1945 nostalgia like blatant sexism.

The Cubs eventually removed the sign.

In similar situations, you always have to ask, how did people view that sign, read what it said and were then like yeah, that’s totally acceptable. Hang that sign up right now!

And if you couldn’t give a shit about that, then here, Tom Ricketts isn’t spending more money than he wants to on improving the Cubs roster.

Oh and more great news coming out of Wrigley.

Happy home opener!
