Albert Almora Jr. had a big day against the Los Angeles Dodgers by not only snapping his hitless streak to begin spring training, but making another spectacular catch in center field.
This was almost identical to a catch made by Almora in 2017 against the San Francisco Giants at Wrigley Field. First, Tuesday’s effort at Sloan Park.

It’s still early in spring training, but Ian Happ has been on fire, so you’d have to figure Almora is feeling some pressure to perform and not lose playing time in a crowded outfield for the Cubs once the regular season gets underway.
Almora also hit a two-run home run Tuesday, snapping a 0-for-14 to start in Cactus League games.
But boy no matter what, Almora can always make special plays in the outfield.
