Two NFL Players Helped Jaquan Brisker Prepare For The Pros

-

Jaquan Brisker had plenty of role models during his upbringing. Most of them resided either in his family or the immediate coaches or teammates he worked with during high school and college. However, he knew if he wanted to achieve his dream of reaching the NFL, he’d have to learn how players at that level operated. So whenever learning opportunities came around, the Chicago Bears rookie pounced on them.

During his “Meet The Rookies” episode on YouTube, longtime friend Brian Jones revealed that he and Brisker worked out together all the time during their early college years. Around that same time, they got a chance to attend camps where actual NFL players would be training. There were several names involved, but Jones singled out two that significantly impacted Brisker’s approach to the game. One of them should be instantly familiar.

Jaquan Brisker picked the right guy to emulate.

Aaron Donald is arguably the best player in the NFL today. He will be in the Hall of Fame five years after he retires and has a case for being the best defensive tackle of all time. A primary reason for his incredible success is his relentless work ethic. The guy is an absolute machine in the weight room and the training field. There are no days off for him, which is why he can dominate on Sundays with such consistency.

Jaquan Brisker seems to have that same mentality. The Bears are already seeing it in practice. Their young safety is flying all over the field. It seems like there isn’t a single play in practice where his presence isn’t felt. That is a key reason they drafted him. Run the ball or pass the ball. It doesn’t matter what the offense does. Brisker never makes it easy for them.

The scary part is he might be one of the most athletically gifted safeties in his class. If he combines that with a Donald-like workout routine, there is no telling what he may accomplish in the coming years.

He is really giving me Mike Brown vibes. The thing is that he’s faster and stronger. I’m really excited to see him play and grow.

Maybe someday they’ll name the “9” defense after him. Now all we need is to find him a legit running mate back there. E. Jackson is not long for this team unless he gets really hungry really quick.
