The NFL Mock Draft Season Is (Almost) Over

-

The NFL Draft is just over 48 hours from now. Ryan Poles is responsible for selecting the quarterback who will guide the offense for the next several years. While the selection of Caleb Williams is all but certain, there are other positions of need. Here is one last mock draft. Using the mock draft simulator at Pro Football Network you can find here, we look at one last mock. Feel free to post your mock draft in the comments! *No trades were forced in this mock. The simulator made all trade proposals.

Round One

After getting confirmation Washington would not select Williams, Washington moved up to land Drake Maye. Poles can draft Caleb Williams second overall. In return, Washington trades picks 2, 36,40, 67, and their first-round selection in 2025.

All three top receivers get selected in the first eight spots, so Ryan Poles uses the ninth selection to fill the need at EDGE, choosing Dallas Turner. The best EDGE in the draft immediately gives the Bears a dominant defense heading into the 2024 season.

Round Two

The trade with Washington gave the Bears two second-round picks and Poles adds depth to the offense.

With the 36th overall pick Poles drafts Center, Graham Barton from Duke.

The Bears add to the WR room with one of the best route runners in the draft, selecting Ladd McCokey, rated by many as the 5th best receiver in this year’s draft.

Round Three

Poles adds depth at DT with the Bears’ 2 selections in round three.

At 67, he adds Braden Fiske who stood out with his showing at the Combine.

Dallas offers pick 76 and the Eagles 6th-round pick in 2025. With the 76th pickPles adds DT Michael Hall JR, from Ohio State.

Fourth Round

With their last draft choice, Poles adds depth to the defensive backfield and special teams with Safety Jalen Hicks.

Poles ends up with seven selections in the 2024 draft and adds another first-round and 6th-round pick in the 2025 draft. The moves give Ryan Poles eleven picks in 2025, two picks in rounds one and two, one each in rounds 3-5, and four picks in round six.

Even if the site made the trades and did the deals I would never post this load of crap! This has absolutely ZERO PERCENT chance of happening.

The rub here is that the mock draft engine pretty much dictates what will happen, based on the quirks of its evaluation of players and trades. These results are much like reading tarot cards – you might be able to massage an interpretation that kind of fits what actually happens. The grades are even worse – they are all about whether you drafted who the mock thought you should. I did one several weeks ago, where, at #9, Washington offered #36, #40, #67 (I think), their 5th round pick, and their 1st next year, in exchange for #9 and the… Read more »

To be fair, I’ve done a BUNCH of these mocks and almost always, immediately get that offer from Washington along with some other nice offers but there’s is too good to pass up. Occasionally they would pass on Williams which is laughable especially since he’s their hometown hero. That glitch doesn’t happen anymore though. That said, Turner probably won’t be there and ideally, he doesn’t fit a 4-3. The rest of the picks here are all reaches for the most part.
