Allen Robinson continues to do strange things on social media. Last week it was deleting all Chicago Bears-related mentions on Twitter and Instagram. A form of protest for not getting the contract extension offers he wanted. Now it’s something new. Robinson was caught liking multiple tweets that seemed to indicate a sense of frustration with quarterback Mitch Trubisky and his inability to throw him accurate passes.
Things took a darker turn on Monday though when Robinson was caught liking a tweet that suggested his best course of action is to leave Chicago. Find another team where he can win and get his money. Needless to say this off a boatload of alarm bells for fans. They already had to see one top receiver force his way out of town in Alshon Jeffery. Now, do they have to witness the sequel?
Allen Robinson actions mean more than words
Upon first glance? Sure that looks a little concerning. At the same time, consider this. If Robinson was so intent on getting out of Chicago, why is he even having extension talks with the Bears? Remember Ian Rapoport and others have said that the two sides have begun exchanging offers and are getting closer to a deal. No way that happens if the receiver is dead set on leaving.

It feels more like this was an instance of Robinson being frustrated after a tough game against the Giants and acting out on Twitter. He later removed the like from his timeline. An indication he knew this or was simply trolling Bears fans who were on his case about yesterday. Either way, his frustrations aren’t likely to go away until he finally has his new deal.
Hopes are high that it will come sometime in the near future. GM Ryan Pace has made it clear the team fully intends to make it happen.
