Chicago Bears Angling for Joint Practices With Denver in August

-

It seems Matt Nagy and Vic Fangio are eager to keep working together. Word has filtered out that the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos are interested in holding joint practices this coming August. This is hardly anything new. The two teams did the exact same thing back in 2018 during the preseason. It’s a great opportunity for both squads to sharpen their teeth against different competition.

According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, the teams have to wait and see how the preseason schedule for 2020 shakes out. The logistics can prove difficult in these circumstances. However, it appears obvious that they wish to make this happen. The familiarity between the coaching staffs makes this almost a no brainer.

Facing off against that tough Fangio defense will be great experience for the Bears offense as they try to fix the issues that plagued them throughout 2019. As for the defense? The Denver offense suddenly has pieces coming into place with quarterback Drew Lock, wide receiver Courtland Sutton, and new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. It will be a nice challenge for them as well.
