Adam Shaheen will go down as one of the more disappointing draft picks of the past 10 years for the Chicago Bears. An ultra-talented physical specimen who couldn’t stay healthy and never seemed to have the necessary desire to be good. Most Chicago Bears fans didn’t shed a single tear when the team traded him to the Miami Dolphins. Quite the opposite, actually. They were thrilled the team got a pick for him at all.
That pick was eventually traded to Seattle and has since become new additions Khalil Herbert and Khyiris Tonga. So the Bears seem more than happy with the outcome. Meanwhile, the Dolphins might be regretting their decision to extend Shaheen. According to reports, an outbreak of COVID-19 occurred that wiped out their entire tight end room. While most might ask how he may have contracted the infection, one look at Shaheen’s Twitter profile pretty much answers that question.

This shouldn’t be a huge surprise.
Shaheen has a track record of being a right-wing guy. While that is entirely his choice, it’s important to note that many people who lean that way have fought back against wearing masks and getting the COVID-19 vaccinations. As a result, many more people from those demographics are contracting the virus. To see Shaheen land in this situation shouldn’t be surprising. Quite the opposite.

It isn’t entirely clear who the source of the breakout was. If it was him, then it isn’t a stretch to wonder how. Either way, this only reinforces the battle the NFL remains in and why their COVID-19 protocols remain so strict. All it takes is one misstep by somebody to start an outbreak. Especially among those who are unvaccinated. Adam Shaheen is who he is and he’s far from being alone on this stance. It’s just unfortunate because that kind of recklessness is what often leads to others getting sick.
