The Chicago Bears may not have had the season they wanted in 2019. Still, they got plenty of standout individual performances. None were better on a consistent basis than wide receiver Allen Robinson. Quarterback problems? Play calling question marks? Little help from other receivers? None of it mattered. Whenever the Bears called his name, the man always delivered.

While the national media hasn’t given him much respect, the same can’t be said for his peers. NFL players voted Robinson the 93rd best player in the league going into this season according to NFL Network. This marks the first time he’s cracked that list dating back to 2016. A well-deserved honor. Robinson finished last season with 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns.

It’s possible Robinson might top what he did a year ago. In addition to being 100% healthy, he’s also playing for a new contract. This is the final year of his current deal. He’ll want to make sure he gets that pay raise he has hinted at many times in recent months. That would suit the Bears just find. The more he dominates, the better their chances of winning games.

What the team wants to find out is if anybody can step up to help him. Anthony Miller has the most promise after a strong second half of last season. Optimism is also high with second-year kid Riley Ridley. It should be an interesting season for that receiving corps.
