Kendall Wright Was Mic’d Up For Titans Game, Yes He Talked Lots of Trash

-

It wasn’t a coincidence that the Chicago Bears made Kendall Wright captain for the week three preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. He’d already made it clear weeks earlier that he was still angry that his former team basically froze him out of the offense over the past two years, feeling they never figured out how to use his skills. That was why he came to Chicago, to reunite with Dowell Loggains who was offensive coordinator during his best season there in 2013.

Was it any coincidence that he was selected to be mic’d up for this game? Of course not. The producers felt he was the most likely to do plenty of talking because of the history. He didn’t disappoint. From the early minutes of the game, Wright was jawing with former teammates and coaches alike. The trash talk was coming out hot.

Kendall Wright got his measure of revenge with his play

The icing on the cake for him came in the form of his play. On their first drive of the game, Chicago was backed up to their own 4-yard line. From there they methodically worked it down the field 96 yards to score a touchdown. Wright was arguably the most valuable part of that. He made three catches during the march for 35, all of them converting third downs for first downs.

It was an impressive showing and proof that the Bears were right to bring him in. Loggains showed he still knows how to utilize Wright properly. With Cameron Meredith out with his knee injury, he figures to get even more action in the offense than before. Don’t forget this young man is a former first round pick. He had 1,000 yards four years ago. He can play.
