Some Positive Offseason Cubs News, Yu Darvish Is Throwing Again

-

Yu Darvish had a 2018 season to forget. After multiple setbacks he was finally shut down by the Cubs and had arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow in September. There haven’t really been many updates on the starting pitcher, besides Theo Epstein reiterating during the Winter Meetings that Darvish would begin to start throwing again.

And hey, guess what? Darvish is throwing again!

The Cubs pitcher posted a short video on his Instagram page Wednesday, saying it was his second day of throwing.

He also posted another video on Tuesday, showing some of his offseason preparation as he continues to work back from his injury-plagued year with the Cubs.

Darvish was only able to make eight starts in his first year with the Cubs before he was placed on the DL in May. He made a couple attempts to come back, making a few rehab starts at South Bend, but the elbow injury was eventually properly diagnosed and he was shut down.

The Cubs expect Darvish to be ready to go by the start of spring training, so seeing him be on schedule and begin to throw again is certainly great to see.

And if you’re a Cubs fan still shit-talking Yu Darvish, fuck off. Thanks.
