10. Chance Is A Spiritual Rapper
Chance is firm believer in church and Jesus, and his faith are always apparent in his songs and statements. He is always thanking God for everything in his life, and I think that makes him that much more polarizing of a person. Most rappers come with the negative connotation of talking about less than appealing topics, but Chance is always addressing current topics mixed with his own subtle religious undertones.
His faith is far more obvious in Coloring Book, particularly now that he is a father and is starting a family, but everything about Chance is unique and genuine, making him one of Chicago’s biggest stars. His impact in the city has quite possibly surpassed his own idol in Derrick Rose, as Chance provides an excellent person to admire for the next generation of Chicago’s youth.
