Chicago Fire Troll White Sox After Stadium Announcement

-

The Chicago Fire dropped a bombshell on Tuesday, announcing plans to construct a privately-funded stadium and entertainment district located along the Chicago River on the site known as, “The 78.” Another pro team in Chicago has also been interested in building a new stadium at the same location and following the initial news the Chicago Fire released a video, which pretty much trolled the White Sox.

In 2024, the White Sox unveiled renderings for their proposed plan to build a new stadium. It was a huge story in Chicago and ever since fans on the South Side have been waiting to see if any progress has been made on the project. Well, that plan now looks dead as the Fire have complete support and backing from ownership, something White Sox fans have been desperately missing from Jerry Reinsdorf.

Although the White Sox released a statement later on Tuesday saying how the franchise is still hopeful that the site can still be home to both Chicago teams, the video coming from the Fire makes it clear. They called dibs.
