Yoan Moncada Gets Hit On The Head, White Sox Update His Status

-

Yoan Moncada got head on the head on a stolen base attempt against the Royals during Wednesday’s series finale.

Moncada stayed in the game until the top of the seventh inning. Daniel Palka pinch hit for him, but the good news is that the White Sox tested Moncada for a concussion and the results were negative.

Earlier in the game, starter Lucas Giolito was taken out in the third inning with hamstring tightness. He had five strikeouts and didn’t allow a hit in 2.2 innings.

Wednesday’s game also featured the benches clearing after Tim Anderson was hit. That followed his two-run homer that initially gave the White Sox a 2-0 lead.

One last note, Palka got a single pinch hitting for Moncada. That broke his 0-for-34 hitless streak.
