White Sox Win Season Series Against Astros Thanks To James McCann’s Grand Slam

-

The White Sox played in one of the weirdest games last weekend against the Phillies and won in extra innings, but Wednesday’s 13-9 victory over the Astros definitely feels like their best win of the year.

It might not have been pretty at times, but the back and forth game on the South Side was as entertaining as it gets. Just when you thought the Astros were about to break away, White Sox pitchers came through with big outs.

The Astros fought from behind for most of the day until tying the game at nine in the eighth inning. However, Alex Colome was able to escape a bases loaded jam that led to James McCann’s game-winning grand slam with two outs in the bottom half of the eighth.

Colome shut the Astros down in the ninth, giving the White Sox a season series win over one of the best teams in baseball.
