Holy crap!
Rick Hahn finally made a big move. Yasmani Grandal has signed with the White Sox.
The $73 million deal is now the richest contract in White Sox history.
Grandal will be 32-years-old on Opening Day in 2020. Lots to love about his game, as he considered one of the best pitch framers in baseball and hits for power. He’s hit at least 22 home runs in each of the last four seasons. While he doesn’t hit for a high average, .241 for his career, Grandal has a 13.9% career walk rate. That’s something the White Sox desperately lack in their offense and Grandal is pretty damn good at getting on base.
Great signing to begin the offseason for the White Sox. Next up, Zack Wheeler?
