White Sox Defeat Twins With Team Effort, But Billy Hamilton Stole The Show

-

Morals were down heading into the second game of the series against the Minnesota Twins. Last night, the White Sox suffered yet another excruciating loss when Yasmani Grandal went down with what turned out to be a torn meniscus. It sounds like he will return in time for the stretch run, but the injury bug continues to plague the team as it has all year long.

The team could have let yet another loss get to them mentally, but instead, they pulled out a 4-1 win behind yet another gem from Carlos Rodon, who continues to be one of the best stories in baseball this year.

But the player everyone can’t stop talking about after the win is Billy Hamilton, as he made what is sure to be the front-runner for Catch-of-the-Year. Don’t believe me? Have a look yourself:

Hamilton has been one of the most fun players to watch on the Sox this season. His high energy, defensive wizardry, and contagious smile have Sox fans screaming for more virtually every game.

The play above is one of the greatest catches I’ve ever seen on live television. And if I were a betting man, I’d say we haven’t seen the last of amazing plays in the outfield from Billy.

Go out and get another tomorrow. Injuries aside, the Sox still need to take care of a weak schedule before the All-Star Break. Then get Eloy, Robert, and Grandal back, make a trade or two, and it’s off to the races for the stretch run.
